Back in 2019, I attended the grand opening of Cho Dang Village in the Korean Mall in Carrollton,TX and it was authentic, with fresh & tasty dishes. The setting was a big dining room, dimmed lighting, and big comfy booths. Staff was very attentive, helpful, and pleasant. This newer Cho Dang Village in Plano, TX is smaller, open, brightly lit, with small tables for 4. It is also very popular, all seats were taken, but my wait was short. Diners were small families, or chatty young adults somehow eating, and holding brisk convos. I had Spicy Beef & Veggies Soup, (Korean name: YukGaeJang). This comes with the traditional BanChan assorted spicy sides, and a steaming bowl of white rice. This was very good, just like the original location! (BanChan is bottomless) West side of Central Xpwy 75, on north side of Legacy (next to Race Trac gas)

Got dinner with the family here and we were very full. Portions are generous for the price, and the small kimchi and japchae noodle sides are included with the meal and unlimited. The rice that comes with the hot soups had a delicious texture, but quickly stuck to the metal bowls which was a waste of good rice. With the unlimited refills on the small sides that were automatically brought out without us asking, many of them became leftovers that I hope do not become food waste. Our waitress was also pushing toward certain higher priced items like the small ribs which were well-liked by the group but $30. Their menu definitely caters to the meat-loving crowd. Unfortunately I don't think this is a place with vegan entree options as the green onion pancakes contain eggs, and both the meat and vegetable tofu soup hot pots use the same broth base, which had hints of a seafood taste. There are definitely places that serve authentic Korean food that is more plant-focused and less wasteful, so while some folks in my family enjoy their food, I will be putting my money elsewhere.

In my opinion, this place serves the best Korean tofu in Dallas, there is no equal. The service and ambiance is acceptable and typical of a Korean restaurant. I love their tofu soup as was very flavorful and I ordered it with max spiciness, which has a nice kick and added good impact to the soup. The bbq meats are also great.

This is their second location that opened fairly recently in Plano. Their original location is in Carrollton. I've never been and was craving a soondubu so we came by for a late lunch on Friday. This location is really big with plenty of seating. It was about half full when we came by and some of the staff was taking their lunch break. They have a good selection on their menu. I ordered a beef soondubu. The side dishes came out pretty quick and were all pretty good. The soondubu was alright, not really special but not bad either. There were two noticeable differences between this place and other Korean restaurants that serve soondubu - they offer a grilled yellow croaker along with the side dishes if you order soondubu and the hot stone pot rice comes with a kettle of hot broth. I felt that the yellow croaker wasn't grilled quite enough - it was cooked through but I was hoping for more crunch. The broth with the rice was a nice touch especially hearing that sizzling sound when you pour it over the rice. Also, they give a very generous amount of rice - I think it was 300-400g.

My dad wanted to take my mom and grandparents to cho dang village since they've never been there before. The whole parking lot is almost full now with the opening of Sichuan folk, even though half of the restaurants in that plaza aren't even open yet. I got a medium soybean paste tofu soup with spicy pork bulgogi combo with my mom. The soybean flavor wasn't as strong as I thought it was going to be but I still liked it. My brothers got a cold noodle with beef bulgogi combo. We actually didn't end up eating the cold noodle so we took it home. My grandparents got a white (no) spice seafood tofu soup with chicken teriyaki. All of the meats were grilled perfectly. We all got a seafood onion pancake to share and we all liked it. The waitress pressured us to order some more since we didn't have enough food when we had more than enough. My dad ordered the grilled mackerel in addition. The food here is good but if you want service you will have to flag down the waiters and waitresses running around. They don't really come to your table to check on things

FOOD Spicy Grilled Pork - Pretty good and flavorful. The portion size is pretty big and perfect for sharing. Vegetable & Green Onion Pancake - the pancake was a lot more on the doughy side than I'm used to. The flavors were still there, and the vegetables came in good proportion. VIBES The place is very spacious. Seating is table seating very well lit and clean. We went around 11:30 AM on a Monday and it wasn't as crowded but towards lunchtime there are a lot of people that come in. SERVICE Service is fast. The lady is really nice. They were fast to get our food out and checked on us overall pleased with the service.

We came today for the tofu and spicy pork bulgogi combo! The restaurant was busy but they got us in without waiting for a long time :) I really like how clean and bright this place is. The food is delicious and well balanced with great selection of banchan. Beef Tofu: very tasty and flavourful but a bit salty Bulgogi: a little dry but very good still Service: they were busy so it was a little hard to get their attention. Still, they did get us extra jap chae and got the bill on time. Will come again soon! Especially when it's not so busy because I think it might be a home run for us since it's a good restaurant to grab Korean food.

My husband and I have heard great things about Cho Dang Village in Carrollton, so now that the Plano spot has opened up much closer to us, we had to give it a try. We swung by right before catching a movie at the Cinemark down the street and were in and out in about 35 minutes on a Thursday night. We like trying a little bit of everything so we ended up ordering a LA galbi and bibim naengmyeon combo + a kimchi oyster soondubu and spicy bulgogi combo. The banchan that came out ahead of our entrees were all great; I especially enjoyed the japchae and squid kimchi, as well as the fried fish! My favorites of the night were probably the super tender kalbi and the flavorful soondubu. Loved the oysters and the kimchi flavor in that. The naengmyeon and bulgogi were also quite solid; the sweetness of the slice of apple in the naengmyeon paired really well with the savory and spicy flavors of the broth and noodles. Be aware that even in 1/2 order size, the naengmyeon is huge! We couldn't finish everything so we packed a lot of it away. Unfortunately the rice noodles in the naengmyeon get super mushy after any amount of time sitting in the broth, so after a few bites of leftovers a few days later we had to toss it. However the leftover soondubu and spicy bulgogi held up really well and made for a great lunch later. All in all a pretty good Korean addition to the strip malls at Legacy and 75; I'll probably be back at some point to try some of the other things on their menu!
